Today is a time to remember fallen soliders. I would like to take the time to pay my respects to a close friend Anthony J. White, who was killed March 25, 2007 in Baqubah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations.  Being in the Washington DC area there are many events going on to celebrate the holiday weekend. A few suggestions would be to visit the monuments to honor those who have passed, National Memorial Day Prade (Constitution Ave & 7th St NW to 17th St),  Ceremony & Concert at Arlington National Cemetery, Festival in Vienna, VA, Annual Memorial Day Jazz Festival at Fort Ward Park, Alexandria, VA, or just enjoy the cookouts!
