OMG! Did you feel the earthquake at 1:51PM today? At a startling magnitude of 5.8, this earthquake originated in Louisa County, VA, only 84 Miles from D.C.! It rattled as far as Toronto, Canada all the way down to Georgia! As my office building evacuated and I witnessed everyone in D.C. flooding the streets, I couldn't help but wonder, is the DMV really prepared for an earthquake?

We grew up having fire drills in the DMV, not earthquake drills. Should the board of education start implementing other natural disaster drills in school safety policies? It is definitely becoming a necessity because as we have all experienced, anything can happen in the DMV. We need to be better prepared!
